Virtual Visit

Virtual Visit is a panoramic visual presentation of an object, property or open-air area available in a web browser or through flash player files. Its aim is to map a walk or virtually visit any interesting place right in the user's computer monitor.

Virtual visit consist of interconnected sets of photos depicting three-dimensional space directly inside the property or object presented. A decisive aspect for the quality of a Virtual Visit is the resolution of the images/photos taken: the higher the resolution, the closest to reality the Virtual Visit will be.

The idea of movement in the virtual world is closer to execution exploit through fast and intuitive web interfaces of visualization programs. Flash technology allows user's interaction, which increases the attractiveness of the presentation. Computer mouse movements correspond to natural head movements and clicking on the landmarks or arrows of the map allows the user to change the place of observation, providing an experience very similar to walking in different rooms of a house Sophisticated software and hi-tech SLR equipment is needed to guarantee that the proportions of objects depicted their perspective are as accurate as possible.

Virtual Visits are already popular in the United States and some European countries in various forms. However, most of them are less advanced presentations, limited to the format of the film or composed by static images linked in a scene. A more advanced Virtual Visit should be operable in three dimensions and time independent. The user should be able to move between landmarks, and have a full 360-degree view of the object depicted (real estate and interior locations are the most frequent). It needs to have Navigation Tool to map the virtual world presentation, allowing the user to have a real orientation relative at any point of the Virtual Visit.
